On average, I think I get 10 emails from Groupon a week. It’s rare for me to open all of these, but every now and then, there’s a subject line that I can’t resist opening. The most recent Groupon offering that came across my phone was too good to pass up was Groupon Beauty Now. So what is Groupon Beauty Now, you ask? Only the most convenient and affordable way to schedule beauty appointments on the fly … and you might even get it at a discount.
Ever wonder what salons do when they have open seats to fill or want to market to new clients? Groupon Beauty Now. Being able to purchase spa and salon services on Groupon is nothing new, but Beauty Now makes it even easier – you find a salon, book an appointment and pay directly through the app {tip included!}. And in true Groupon fashion, you’re getting pampered at a discounted price, too.
Last month, Chicagogrammers, an Instagram group I’m in, partnered with Groupon Beauty Now to share a discount code with Chicago instagrammers like myself, so I had to give it a try.
My experience at MUD.
I’ve only had a few facials, so going with the theme of improving my skin, I tried out MUD. Facial Bar. I made an appointment through the Beauty Now app, and came to work that day pumped to get “new skin,” as I’m warmly referring to it. In typical Alex fashion, I convinced myself that it was scheduled for that day, when I was actually a week early {extra-heart breaking for a gal who’s late for everything}. I gave MUD a call and they were able to fit me in that same day. Bonus points to MUD for being SO accommodating.
I walked over to the River North spa after work and met with Mallory, an esthetician at MUD, who treated me to a detox facial. I have oily skin and I’m prone to blackheads, so the active charcoal ingredient did the trick for me. As a person with little to no patience, I loved that I was only there for about 30 minutes – and it was only $50 including tip, even without my discount.
Mallory was super knowledgeable about products that I should use on my skin, and I love that I was able to ask her questions about proper skincare {more on that to come!}. If you’re wondering who reassured me that the #GallonChallenge has great skin benefits, it was her! If you started the challenge, and you feel your skin is actually getting worse – fear not, she did tell me that it gets worse before it gets better.
My experience at MUD was so good, that I bought a new client package, and I’m hopefully going to make this a monthly thing. I noticed a difference in my skin right away, so I say treat yo’self.
A discount code just for you!
Chicagogrammers, Beauty Now and I would love for you to give the app a try, too. So download the Groupon app, book your appointment under “Salon & Spa Booking” and use the code ‘CG15’ at check out for $15 off!
What services are you going to get?! Maybe a blowout at goldplaited {one of my faves} or a mani at And Blowdry {I’ve heard great things}?!
