Happy Monday, friends! It was a weekend unlike most for me. With the exception of a little shopping, I was make-up free, binging Gilmore Girls and asleep on the couch before 10:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. Butttt, not before I shut down a Michael’s craft store. Basically, I spent 48 hours as an 80-year-old lady, and even though it was great for a weekend, I’ll always be that gal who lives for a good night out on the town.

The kind of night that calls for a killer pair of heels instead of a killer-comfy bathrobe. So today, I’m pretending that it’s not Monday, and sharing two night-out looks with Tobi to start prepping for my next girl’s night out.

So, you might be thinking, who’s Tobi? A new love interest and possibly date for Thanksgiving? Nope. Think again. Tobi is an online-women’s boutique that I first discovered during college. So, I guess you could say that Tobi is a former love interest. Partly because your first order is 50 percent off, and I really took advantage of that. As you can imagine, that first order was a big one. No joke … I think I bought 75 percent of my wardrobe junior year in one online-shopping session.
I still find myself wearing pieces from that first order, so when they reached out to me to try some new falls pieces, I couldn’t wait to see what their new merch was like. And just like that – I was back in 2012, and in love with Tobi.
Two night-out looks with Tobi
Look one: A new way to wear a wrap dress
This first look started with a problem that I know many women face – especially if you online shop as much as I do.
“I really like this dress, but will it be too short, too low cut, too whatever?”
Usually, that thought stops me from buying. While some ladies can pull off a dress that’s too short and / or too low cut, I can’t. I will actually enjoy my night less, because I’m worried about by butt showing or worse – flashing everyone in the bar, because even all of the duct tape in the world couldn’t keep it all in place.
This time, I decided to step outside my comfort zone – even if it was in the most modest way ever. I ordered the dress that I thought would be too short and too low cut, and styled it in a way that suited me. With a cami, light-weight trench coat and a pair of skinny jeans, I turned this wrap dress into a tunic approved for any night out.
Look two: A trendy, but classic, OTS top
This second look is a go to for me. Off-the-shoulder tops are a trend that I’ve loved for so long – and one that I don’t see going away any time soon. For this night-out look, I styled an OTS top with a silk scarf for a slightly classic twist on an otherwise “trendy” look.
While I’d love to wear this outfit while sipping a fancy cocktail, this top with a choker, skinny jeans and booties would be a perfect look for a casual night out. And since it’s flowy, you can drink all of the beer and eat a couple hot dogs without ever letting anyone know that you’re bloated {speaking from experience}.
