Last week, I had my first Rent the Runway experience for a friend’s wedding in St. Louis. Believe it or not, this was my first EVER adult wedding, and since the venue was much cooler than your normal wedding – Busch Stadium! – I was lost on what to wear.VIEW POST

Happy Friday, friends! Today is especially happy, because my guest blog post – Friday Five – is live on the Windy City Blogger Collective. I love everything about Chicago, so obviously joining WCBC was necessary when I started Gilded Gal. If you are a Chicago blogger – I seriously suggest joining. It’s always fun to check in with other creative Chicagoans – they are a constant source of fun & inspiration!
Fall is the season for the basic girl: PSLs, skinny jeans and sweaters will be the uniform for most girls age 13-forever (?!), and I can’t wait. Because – you heard it here first – when it comes to fall, I’m a {slightly} basic gal. One thing that might set me apart is … I hate pumpkin. Pumpkin patch? Okay. Pumpkin spice? No way.
I know it sounds unbelievable, but I actually enjoy packing. I’m a total organization nerd, so naturally I write lists of everything that I might do – and might need – while I’m on vacation. I don’t think it gets much worse than arriving at my destination ready to explore only to realize that I forgot to pack bras {yep, I’m speaking from experience}.VIEW POST
I’ve never been much of a beauty junkie, so I find it hard to justify spending tons of money on products that I probably don’t even know how to use {99% of the time this is true – thank goodness for YouTube!}. Of course, I have my everyday essentials that I know and love, and I’m willing to spend a little extra for these.VIEW POST
Politics aside, it’s hard to not feel empowered after seeing the first female in our nation’s history accept a major party’s presidential nomination. Last night was most definitely a once in a lifetime experience, although there are plenty of ways to feel empowered and to empower others every day.VIEW POST
