As soon as the weather drops below 50 degrees, I break out all of my cozy fall essentials. I’m constantly hot, but there is something about curling up in a big sweater or a scarf – that also doubles as a blanket – that I love.
Yesterday, I talked about two night-out looks from Tobi – an online shop that you might only associate with “going-out” outfits. But, don’t be fooled – Tobi has lots of everyday pieces, too. So today, I’m talking about those cozy fall essentials that will be on constant rotation this season.

My cozy fall essentials
A cozy sweater
I have been wrapped up in this Tobi sweater since it came in the mail a few weeks back. It’s oversized, the softest material and a fun color-block design, which matches with almost everything in my closet. It’s the kind of sweater that makes you want to curl up on the couch and never get up. It’s that good.
While this is a staple in my weekend wardrobe, it works in the office, too, Last week, I styled it over a turtleneck and wrap skirt with OTK boots for a chic and comfy look.
Leather leggings
I’ve always been one of those people who strongly believes that leggings aren’t pants. Good for you, not for me. But after reading so many good reviews about the Spanx faux-leather leggings, I was curious. I mean, come on – they’re a comfortable control top … how could I not love them!? So last weekend, when I was at Alixandra Collections for a charity shopping event, my friend Katie convinced me to try them – because charity, duh. She got me into the dressing room by telling me that I could wear these, eat 12 tacos and still feel skinny. Sold. She knows me so well.
But in all seriousness – these leggings are so flattering {and not as shiny on your body as they look online!}. I’m still going to treat them like leggings – meaning never wear them without a long shirt to cover my butt – but they’re an instant fave. I just ordered the velvet pair, too, so I’m officially a believer.
If you’re interested in ordering these, I usually wear a medium or large in leggings / yoga pants {a size 8 or 10 in jeans}, and I bought a medium. They fit great, so I would say these fit true to size! They would be a perfect for Thanksgiving!
Slip-on sneakers
When the weather is obviously too cold for sandals, but not quite cold enough for snow boots / Uggs, I rely on my slip-on sneakers. They’re a weekend essential with leggings or jeans, and my go-to walking shoes for my commute to work. My two favorite pairs are Vans and Marc Fisher, but Steve Madden has a huge selection, too!
So there you have it – my favorites for fall. If you run into me on the weekend, chances are I’ll be wearing one – or all – of these pieces.
