Are you a lover of clearance couture? If you’re anything like me, you love a good deal. Sales are easily one of my favorite things, but they have their disadvantages.
Most of the time when items go on sale, it means that they are from the previous season, so you might not be able to wear it right away {I love immediate gratification} or there isn’t a wide variety of sizes to choose from. Do you run into these same problems when scouring the sales rack? Fear not, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here! It doesn’t get much better than next season on sale now – am I right or am I right?!
So, let’s break down my favorite sale in all its glory: what I’m buying, what staples I think you should add to your fall wardrobe and how to start shopping now.My Shopping List
I am not trying to rush summer, but I love fall fashion, and I can’t wait to break out my favorite pieces from last year and add a few more staples to my rotation. A new fall coat, booties that go with everything and a new pair of jeans are just a few of the items on my list. Most of my favorite jeans are from Gap, because they’re good quality, fit me well and the price is unbeatable, but you can’t deny that a pair of AG, Joe’s or Paige jeans add a little extra something to your casual Friday or weekend attire. Unless you can find a pair at Nordstrom Rack, you probably won’t find any of these brands with a price tag under $175, so I always try to find a versatile pair during the sale. I also love shirts that are appropriate on the weekends or during the work week – how cute is this one with bell sleeves, this ruffley one & this cardigan?!
What you should add to your Wish List
I know it’s hard to think about wearing sweaters and boots in the middle of July. In Chicago, it’s around 80 degrees today, but for the sake of the sale, I’m turning off my summer mindset for a quick second and thinking ahead to chilly days, orange leaves and filling my closet with a few new fall staples.
What I love about the Anniversary Sale is all the items you need for a fabulous fall wardrobe are marked down before the season even starts, so you get to wear your new clothes for an entire season {not just a few weeks}. Since it’s a new season, I would focus on purchasing the pieces that will last you for the remainder of 2016. For me, this is the essentials – a few new bras that a perfect for everyday wear, a new shoe to throw on for a day of errands, a pair of rain boots for a price that can’t be beat, or one of the best carry-on bags in the game. If you’re looking to add pieces with a bit more character – I love these booties to take you from your afternoon meeting to date night, a cross-body bag to dress up your LBD, or add a little flare to your denim collection with these jeans {pun intended}.
My ‘If $$$ wasn’t an object’ purchase
When it comes to the Anniversary Sale, I think my wish list is bigger than my cart, and I don’t think I’m alone on that. So many of the items marked down rarely go on sale, and since the prices go back up in a few weeks you kind of can’t help but go a little crazy. I’m not made of money, so I’m practicing self control, but that won’t keep me from looking. So if money wasn’t an object, these would be mine…
Now that we filled our carts and made our wish lists, it’s time to click ‘buy’. If you have a Nordstrom credit or debit card, you can start shopping RIGHT NOW in stores and online. If you don’t have a card, the sale opens to the public on July 22 and prices go up on August 8. If you’re interested, it’s not too late to apply for a card and access the pre-sale. I have the Nordstrom debit card, and I love that is connects directly to my bank account {no bills!}, and the perks are amazing!
No matter what your style – or budget – I can guarantee that you’ll find a few fabulous items for your fall wardrobe at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.
Happy shopping, friends!
