Wedding season is upon us! As the invites roll in, I bet you’re checking registries and trying to find the perfect gift before another guest beats you to it. I think it’s safe to say that we’re all looking for a gift the couple will love, but also something with a personal touch – not just “you wanted this from Macy’s, so here ya go.”
This year, my first friend from college is getting married {!!!}, so I’m right there with you! Luckily, I have until November to find a gift for them, but I’m guessing most of you don’t have that luxury. Fear not, wedding guests, this week for Friday Faves, I’m highlighting wedding gifts you can snag on any budget.
Let’s break it down by a few different price ranges…
Budget = $1-$100
Is there a couple on your list that is impossible to buy for? Maybe you want to take the stress out of shopping and just give them cash, because 1. it’s easy and 2. people love money. Maybe this sounds like the perfect plan, but if you’re anything like me, you might also want to give them something extra to add a little personality to the standard card with cash {like maybe this personalized cheeseboard?!}.
These are also great gifts if you weren’t formally invited to the wedding, but you want to congratulate the couple and help them celebrate their new life together (think neighbor, co-worker, etc.).
Budget = $100-$200
Most registries are full of practical gifts, but I believe there is always room to add a little flavor {pun intended, see below} to otherwise “boring gifts”. I would love to receive this pot {currently 20% off!} engraved with my new last initial or this printer that instantly prints photos from your smartphone. I can guarantee that these gifts will become the couple’s new everyday essentials.
If you are going to spend over $200 on a gift, I’m guessing that you would want to buy something that you know the couple will love. The gifts below would be great for the bride & groom who you’re very close with – you know their likes & dislikes, the style of their home, and the gifts that they would actually appreciate. How about this outdoor grill for the pizza lovers {everyone} or a piece of original artwork {maybe from one of Chicago’s many art fairs this summer?!}?
What is your go-to wedding gift? Do you usually stick with what’s on the registry or try to think outside the box? Tell me in the comments below!
Happy shopping! xAlex
